Open when you need permission to rest

Dear Lisa,

Rest is not lazy. Rest is not giving up. Rest is productive.

You have FULL PERMISSION to

  • ✅ Stay in bed if you're exhausted
  • ✅ Cancel plans if you need to
  • ✅ Do nothing for a whole day
  • ✅ Watch TV without guilt
  • ✅ Say "I need a break"

Remember: "Let yourself process and heal by doing things that calm you."

Rest is part of healing.

Your body needs downtime to recover. Your nervous system needs quiet to reset. Your brain needs breaks from constant problem-solving.

You don't have to earn rest. You don't have to be productive enough to deserve it. You don't have to justify it to anyone.

Your body needs this.

Things that count as rest

  • 😴 Napping
  • 🛁 Long bath
  • 📺 Watching comfort shows
  • 📖 Reading for pleasure
  • 🧘‍♀️ Gentle yoga or stretching
  • ☕ Sitting with tea and doing nothing
  • 🏞️ Sitting in nature

Not everything needs to be optimised or productive.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is absolutely nothing.

Rest now so you can function tomorrow.
