Dear Lisa,
I know you're in that dark place where everything feels hopeless. I need you to know something: this is depression & circumstance talking, not the truth.
What IS actually true about you:
- ❤️ You're compassionate - you care deeply about your patients and help them every day, the same for me, the same for your family.
- 💪 You're strong - you've survived every dark day so far, even when it felt impossible
- 🎯 You're trying - even reading this means you're fighting for yourself
- ✨ You're worthy - not because of what you do, but because you exist
Right now, the ONLY job you have is: "Look after your human" - that's you. That's it. Nothing else matters today.
Do one act of self-compassion RIGHT NOW:
- 🛁 Take a warm shower or bath
- 🧸 Get under a blanket with something comforting
- 🎵 Put on music that makes you feel less alone
- 🌿 Get outside in nature
- 😴 If it's evening, just go to bed early - tomorrow might be easier
You are not: Weak. Useless. Incapable. Broken beyond repair. Those are lies your brain is telling you.
You are: Having a really hard time. You handle a lot, from many directions. You're allowed to struggle. It doesn't make you less of anything.
